Mesmerism or Magnetic Healing

"Magnetic healing" is a form of psychic healing that uses the transfer of psychic energy. This is our core energy and it governs our physical energy and the energy of our willpower. Our psychic energy is stored in the solar plexus chakra. When our psychic energy is depleted, our ability to function adequately in the world also decreases and we often become mentally exhausted.

In magnetic healing, any healing occurs through the involuntary transfer of psychic energy from healer to patient. This occurs when psychic energy from the healer's solar plexus is transferred to the solar plexus of the patient. The patient feels the influx of energy and may be transformed, depending on how much energy is transferred. The healer may be drained of energy, depending on the state of his existing vitality. The traditional name for this process in the west is mesmerism, after Anton Mesmer who brought it into public awareness around the beginning of the 19th century ; it was also called "animal magnetism", or even magnetic healing, since it was not understood how it worked. It was from the investigation into mesmerism that hypnotism was born.

Mesmerism depends on its effectiveness on the vitality of the healer. If he is an extrovert, like Mesmer, he will have abundant energy, and so will not usually notice when he has transferred energy into the patient. The more energy that the healer has, the more energy he can transfer. Because the transfer is rapid, it can produce rapid healing in the patient. Or at least the rapid removal of symptoms. Now if the healer does not have a lot of energy, he will be depleted by the transfer, and may become ill himself. Hence this method is only suitable for extroverts and others who have lots of energy.

I once experienced magnetic healing, with me being the healer. I was in a psychic development class during my 30s, and we practised giving healing to each other occasionally. Once, when it was my turn to try healing, I moved my hands around the other person (I was trying to imitate the laying on of hands in spiritual healing) when suddenly my solar plexus seemed to collapse. I don't normally have much energy, since I am an introvert, and I developed an immediate stomach ache. I had transferred most of the psychic energy in my solar plexus to the other person, and my stomach was complaining about lack of energy. It took me about 24 hours to recharge my solar plexus and recover from the stomach ache. The other person felt fine, however !!  I think that the transfer happened because I really liked the other person.
